Helen and Andrew married at North Tyneside Registry office. Like so many couples during this covid pandemic, their journey to the wedding day has been full of changes and restrictions. Despite the corona virus restrictions they were determined to get married. I was the wedding photographer at Whitley Bay on a beautiful morning with bright sunshine but alas it wasn't to last and just before stepping out of the house to go the registry office down came the rain.
A time old saying states 'Rain on your wedding day is good luck because it signifies that your marriage will last. As you know, a knot that becomes wet is extremely hard to untie – therefore, when you “tie the knot” on a rainy day, your marriage is supposedly just as hard to unravel! The rain was short lived but enough for this time old saying to keep them in good stead.
The wedding service was everything that this bride and groom are, it was funny, it was relaxed, it was emotional, it was loving, it was even a little tearful.
The beautiful bride, Helen, was relaxed and enjoyed her morning of preparation and even took time for a little bubbly and reflection before getting dressed for her special moment.
One of my favourite parts of the wedding day, but often the hardest to capture, is the moment the father of the bride sees his little girl, all dressed and ready to be handed in to the care and love of her groom and soon to be husband. This wedding day Dad reveal did not disappoint, the emotions flowed with tears and smiles of joy and the pride that only Dad's have!
Let's look at the fun, celebrations and marriage of the bride and groom, Helen & Andrew. The rain started about five minutes begore the brides arrival at the North Tyneside Registry office but this did not dampen the mood one little bit and as luck would have it eased off and stopped just as the beautiful stepped out of her wedding car. Once inside the sun was shining through and brightened the service with it rays.
I love it when a couple are willing to go that little bit out of their way for the sake of a few keep sake and creative pictures and that is exactly what this bride and groom agreed to. After getting married at the registry office on way to the reception Helen & Andrew and their close friends and best man stopped off at Fish quay, North Shields. Not the biggest of beaches but enough to grab a few quick shots and help fill out that album, oh and have a few bubbles on the way, and doesn't that VW campervan look great too!!
Like so many other weddings this year the original plans went out the window and Helen and Andrew had to make a few minor adjustments and so the evening celebrations were held the following day. Not a bad idea really so you get two days of wedding fun and not just one! Also your wedding photographer get a little break between the first and second day!!
