This is me, the man behind the lens!! After 30 years dedicated to the public sector I now enjoy a slightly more sedate life which affords me the time to be in my favourite place, the mountains!! When I'm not out climbing mountains I spend hours walking the beautiful countryside of Northumberland with Benji, my working Cocker Spaniel.

I am very proud of the reviews I have gained, and these are clear testament to my approach, professionalism, and the service I provide. I have won awards for my work and have had many images used by venues throughout the North East to highlight their wedding venues.
Tom really is the full package when it comes to wedding photography. We cannot recommend him enough. Perfect communication from start to finish. Tom visited our house a few weeks before the wedding to discuss what we wanted from him on the day, we opted for discreet shots at the venue, and then wedding photos of just the 2 of us in Jesmond dene, followed by group photos of the guests. Tom then explained of the equipment he’d be using, and discussed our day with us hour by hour, planning where to be and what to do for the perfect photographs. Tom is very easy going and everybody on the day of the wedding said how great Tom was. On the day we loved Tom’s enthusiasm and dedication, he was a ghost at all times, blending in with the crowd and hiding in vantage points to catch the best shots. Then he’d jump out of the shadows and quickly take control of situations where people needed to be in certain places and positions, such as group photos, nobody was left guessing, Tom had all the angles worked out and quickly got everybody in their places so photographs were expertly centered. Tom is creative with his shots, using a variety of equipment and props, such as step ladders, lights, champagne bottles and snow, and the end results speak for themselves. 5 days after the wedding Tom came round and presented us with 1118 edited photographs and a slideshow of the day that we all watched together. We are more than delighted with every single photo and would recommend Tom every single time.
Feeling comfortable on our wedding day was of paramount importance to us. Having scrolled endlessly through reviews and galleries, we decided to book Tom in 2018. Fast forward 4 years, and we finally got our wedding day. Tom was so easy to communicate with, always responding promptly and made changing over our date due to covid both stress and hassle free. When we finally met just a few weeks before our 4th August wedding day, it was immediately apparent that we had made a good choice in our wedding photographer. Tom was extremely friendly yet professional and made us both feel instantly comfortable. We talked through what we wanted from our photos and how the day would work and left feeling confident we would end up with some brilliant picture memories. We weren’t wrong! On the day, Tom arrived early to scout the venue and ensure that he didn’t miss any of the key moments from the pre wedding preparations. For vast amounts of the time, we didn’t even know he was there - exactly what we had asked for! Tom pointed us in the direction of perfect settings and timings for lighting to create beautiful pictures but there was never any pressure. If we were busy with our guests or enjoying certain moments he made us feel totally comfortable in deciding when was the right time for our pictures. Tom worked with our master of ceremonies to ensure we were always where we needed to be so that the day could run entirely smoothly. He stayed throughout the day and was only too happy to stay well in to the evening in order to ensure each element of the venue (various rooms) could be captured. To top it all off, Tom provided us with a collage on the day to share with friends and family and we received all of our edited photos within less than 2 weeks - amazing! Our final images are incredible.
Tom is amazing! He's fantastic at what he does and we couldn't recommend him highly enough. He put us and our guests at ease on the day and was great at coaching us through each shot. The photos he managed to capture are outstanding and we absolutely love them. Tom is professional and had clearly done his research ahead of our big day because he knew exactly where to go to get the best shots and vantage points. As you can see from the photos attached to this review - he will go the extra mile to get the perfect shot, including getting in the cold North Sea with us!
Answers to your FAQs
Q. Are you insured? Yes. I have full public liability and indemnity insurance cover. Q. What happens if you can't make it on the day? A. In the very unlikely event that I can not make the event (never happened yet!) then I have a bank of similar photographers that I would call on to cover at no extra cost to you. Q. What about equipment failure? A. All of my gear is professional equipment, I carry at least two of everything, two cameras, two lenses of each focal length in fact I carry more gear than I ever need! Q. When will I get my images? A. I stipulate within 6 weeks, this can sometimes be longer in busy periods, but I do my best to get them done as quickly as possible and this is usually within 1-2 weeks. Q. What is the booking procedure? A. I require a £100 deposit to secure the date, I also send you a contract to confirm and agree the details. I then require half of the remaining balance one month before the wedding and the remainder when you receive your images. I believe in body positivity and I photograph real people and real love. Your partner wants to marry you for who you are, you are who they want to spend the rest of their life with, not a transformed version of you. I have a simple policy where, I will remove anything that wasn’t there two weeks ago, or won’t be there in two weeks time, such as a spot for example. When you get your wedding photographs back I want you to see the person you fell in love with standing next to you in your photos, and be able to look back in years to come and remember the day for what it was and not some 'photoshopped' fake collection. Q. Do I need to feed you? A. Being fed is always a nice bonus but I am also aware that some venues charge the same price for the 'officiants' as they do the guests and I would not want you to feel obliged to have pay this for me. I am happy to bring along my own food and perhaps grab a snack from the night time buffet!!?? Q. Can we put our photos on fsocial media? A. Definitely! I provide you with web ready images formatted for social media, and, phone ready images for mobile phone use.
