As an affordable Northumberland wedding photographer, I get to work at the best wedding venues in the North East and this is certainly the case when I return to capture wedding photography at Halton Grove. Lisa and Peter chose the perfect location for their summer wedding in Corbridge. As a Halton Grove Northumberland wedding photographer this is one of my top venues.
Halton Grove is an estate wedding venue that features a Victorian farmhouse built from Hadrian’s Wall stone and wrapped in beautiful wisteria. It has beautiful gardens surrounded by rolling hills and enjoys unrivalled views across the Tyne Valley. A truly unique and photogenic setting, this new venue is fast becoming a favourite with Northumberland wedding photographers.
On the day, I first caught up with Peter and his grooms party who were enjoying a morning game of golf at Matfen Hall golf course and I got some great images of them looking really happy and relaxed.
I then shot over to Halton Grove and got some gorgeous images of the venue all dressed and ready for the day. I found Lisa and her bridal party in Halton Grove’s newly refurbished Bridesmaids Cottage. Lisa was in the capable hands of her make-up artist Kate from The Brow Base and her two bridesmaids.

Lisa looked amazing in a stunning tulle dress decorated with a butterfly print that gave her a wonderfully natural, romantic and floaty look that really suited the outdoor setting of the wedding. She bought the dress at Si Bridal Boutique. Lisa complemented the dress with her elegantly styled hair and a simply posy of white flowers created by Secret Garden Flowers who did all of the flowers on the day. Lisa’s two bridesmaids looked elegant in rose gold and gold dresses.
The ceremony was held outdoors on the lawns of Halton Grove’s beautiful gardens. And Lisa was walked down the aisle by her son. Who, like Peter and the rest of the groom’s party, looked very smart in a light grey three-piece suit.
There followed a really special ceremony that culminated in Lisa and Peter walking back down the aisle a married couple to the applause of their guests. I then took my chance to get some great images of the wedding party in the garden and a really fun confetti shot. Here, take a look!
Everybody enjoyed a drinks reception in the garden, and with guests happily catered for. I took my chance to quickly whisk Lisa and Peter away for a few minutes for a mini photoshoot around the Halton Grove Estate. I got some great images and was especially pleased with this image of Lisa and Peter crossing the style with the sun behind creating a beautiful hazy glow. Here, take a look!
Storytelling wedding photography in Northumberland
We then rejoined everybody for the wedding breakfast, that was being held in the beautifully converted stables. A contemporary room filled with light through ceiling to floor windows that seamlessly blend indoors with outdoors. Speeches were before food which is always a good idea and were very well received by everybody. These were followed by a delicious wedding breakfast prepared by Halton Grove’s talented team of in-house caterers.
Evening celebrations started with the cutting of an elegant two-tiered wedding cake followed by a romantic first dance for Lisa and Peter. Now, everybody was in for a fantastic surprise for the evening entertainment. Lisa surprised Peter by booking the best Fleetwood Mac tribute band in the world (according to everybody including Fleetwood Mac themselves!) and the tribute band Transatlantic Rumours quickly filled the dancefloor.
And it was the image of Lisa and Peter embracing on the dancefloor with their loved ones around them, that felt like the perfect image to close the story of their day.
